A Card Show, a Craft Fair, and a Block Party — All at Once

For its first-ever Get Nutz in Paradise, the GetNutz crew didn’t just throw a card show — they threw a block party. On August 9, the Kroc Center in Ewa Beach filled up with 80+ card vendors, 50+ craft vendors, and 10+ food vendors, live music on the mic, and something like 5,000 people moving between it all. A joint production from GetNutz, Paradise, So U‘i Hawai‘i, and ToyLynx, it was built so the cards were just one part of the day — a full day out that gave every member of the family a reason to come.

And for a debut, it went big.

More Than a Card Show

The whole idea was that you didn’t have to be a card collector to have a day. On the craft side, a custom hat bar was a runaway hit. On the food side, Devo’s Matcha had a line that never quit. And a rotating live-music lineup — Moke Boy, Nā ‘Ōiwi, and Kalahiki — kept the whole floor moving all day. Cards, crafts, food, and music under one roof: that’s the Get Nutz formula, and it’s a different kind of card-show weekend.

The Pull of the Day

The cards delivered, too. The story everyone kept re-telling: Paul (@rocket_relics) sniped a Moonbreon out of a single pack — the kind of hit you rip thousands of packs searching for.

Built by a Village

A first show this size doesn’t run itself. Get Nutz in Paradise was pulled off by a deep crew — Javin, Brandalyn (@marketeditco), Keola, and La Tisha on the card and food sides, and So U‘i running the craft vendors — with sponsorship and support from @paradisecards, @toylynx, @souihawaii, and @getnutzwearhawaii (the VIP swag came courtesy of GetNutz and ToyLynx). By all accounts it ran smooth from open to close — no small feat for a first outing this big.
